The biggest challenge is that the Fairmont Telluride is NOT air conditioned, and for our August stay with 4 adults and a baby in a 3 bedroom suite, it was very warm (low 80s) overnight within the unit according to our baby monitor. This team was on their game, and was very responsive to requests.
The Concierge function is more of a front desk and is in a large lobbyish area on the 3rd floor. The set up with two bedrooms on one end and one on the other is perfect for parents wanting a little noise separation from their kids across the very large unit. Our 3 bedroom unit had 3 very spacious bathrooms, two with large jacuzzi tubs. There is a spa within the building, and a small efficiency Bosch washer and dryer within each unit.

There was also coffee, filters, a wide array of kitchen pots, pans, glassware, spices and a full size refrigerator plus an icemaker in the spacious kitchen.

We loaded the dishwasher and they ran it-for some reason, dishwasher soap was not left in the unit but manual dishwashing soap was available. Housekeeping was fantastic-fast and thorough-but came every early afternoon versus on demand (see above hotel comments). Suites are large and nicely appointed, but since these are essentially condos, the newness of the furniture may vary from suite to suite. If you are seeking standard amenities you would take for granted at a five star resort, like a standard front desk at the base of a standard elevator configuration, you may be a bit frustrated.

If you can accept that it is more of a series of owned condominiums managed by a central office, you can enjoy the stay.
The verdict? While it may be a great location in Telluride, it is not a hotel in the traditional sense. We have stayed and enjoyed Fairmonts around the world from Dallas to Acapulco, so as a President's Club member, we were excited to try the Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge.
